Same goes for the other Khalid 'Gereja' from Southampton. While he may be forgiven for following a public opinion, he could not be exonerated for politicking such an issue.
After being left in isolation from many of his political allies, Khalid's days as a Chief Minister is now numbered.
The Sultan is more than please to accept his resignation, if he is wise enough to make that decision. Or does he still has to wait for a public opinion.
